Painting Gallery 2008 - 2009

What has preoccupied the work that I have been working on through 2008 and into 2009 has included a continuing reference to the on-line platform and visual experience. I often incorporate single and/or multiple computer "windows" featuring related or seemingly random images and messages that one may find while visiting or passing through a document, web-site, a youtube video, a pop-up ad, and so on. The images that I have been working with express the myriad thoughts, anxieties, fears and hopes that have been on my mind for some time. The images express my concerns for the planet, the relationships among cultures and individuals in general, the continuing impact (as well as collapse) of consumer-based societies, and, every now and then, hopeful images of a better, brighter tomorrow.
